Slingoh’s English programs are designed by Sarah Slagle, founder and Education Director of Slingoh Korea. Sarah holds a Master’s degree in TESOL from Arizona State University and has more than 10 years of experience teaching English in Korea.
Sarah has developed and taught English programs for learners of many different ages and backgrounds, including university students, working professionals, adult learners, and retirees. Her experience includes everything from developing university-level courses and designing curricula to creating learning activities and assessment methods.
After seeing how many learners spend years studying English but still struggle to use it in real-life situations, Sarah created Slingoh to help close the gap between learning English and actually using it.
All Slingoh programs are based on the Slingoh Method, which emphasizes thoughtful curriculum design, active participation, meaningful interaction, and opportunities to use language in real-world situations.
Learn English through professionally designed programs grounded in TESOL expertise—and build skills you can actually use in your everyday life.
Checking in at airports and hotels
Ordering food and making requests
Asking for directions and information
Handling unexpected problems
Making small talk with people you meet
Explaining what you need when something goes wrong
Keeping a conversation going beyond basic questions and answers
Communicating when you don't know the perfect word
You may know more English than you think. The difficult part can be actually using it.
Maybe you can understand English fairly well but struggle to respond quickly. Maybe conversations stop after a few sentences because you don't know what to say next. Or maybe you spend so much time worrying about grammar that you forget to enjoy the conversation.
This program is for adults who want more opportunities to speak English in a relaxed, supportive environment.
You'll practice:
Starting and continuing conversations
Asking natural follow-up questions
Talking about your experiences and opinions
Telling stories and describing everyday life
Responding when conversations take an unexpected turn
Finding different ways to say what you mean
Listening and responding in real time
Becoming more comfortable speaking without preparing every sentence first
You don't need to know everything before you start speaking.
This is a place to try things out, make mistakes, discover what works, and gradually make English feel more natural.
You have an opinion. The challenge is expressing it clearly in English.
Maybe you understand the topic but hesitate when it's your turn to speak. Maybe you worry that your English isn't sophisticated enough to express what you really think. Or maybe you find yourself agreeing simply because it's easier than explaining why you disagree.
This program is for learners who want to move beyond everyday conversation and have more meaningful discussions in English.
You'll practice:
Sharing and explaining your opinions
Agreeing and disagreeing respectfully
Supporting your ideas with examples and reasons
Responding to different perspectives
Asking questions that move a discussion forward
Clarifying what you mean when someone misunderstands you
Thinking and responding in English without preparing every sentence
Staying engaged when a conversation becomes more challenging
You don't need to sound like a native speaker to have something interesting to say.
This is a place to explore ideas, change your mind, push back, ask better questions, and find the English you need along the way.
You may be qualified for the job. Talking about yourself in English can still feel like a completely different challenge.
Maybe you know your experience but struggle to explain it naturally. Maybe interview questions make you nervous because you have to think about the answer and the English at the same time. Or maybe you worry that your English will make you seem less capable than you actually are.
This program is for job seekers who want to feel more prepared and confident communicating in English during the job search.
You'll practice:
Introducing yourself and your professional background
Describing your skills and experience
Answering common interview questions
Talking about your strengths and areas for growth
Explaining your accomplishments
Asking thoughtful questions in interviews
Handling unexpected questions
Communicating professionally without sounding overly rehearsed
Your English doesn't define your professional ability.
This is a place to practice talking about what you can do, so that when the opportunity comes, your English doesn't get in the way of showing it.
Have a learning goal that doesn’t quite fit one of our existing programs?
Bring a group of 3–8 people, and Slingoh can design a structured 4- or 8-week program around your shared goal.
We’ll build the program around what you want to be able to do with the language — with the content, activities, and practice designed to help you use it in real situations.
If your group has fewer than 8 people, Slingoh may be able to add other learners with similar goals and language levels.

To create the small-group experience Slingoh is designed for, programs need at least 4 students to run. If fewer than 4 students register, we’ll let you know and the program will be cancelled.
We’ll also keep you updated when the program is scheduled to run again, or help you find a similar Slingoh offering that may be a good fit.
